Pro Divers has been operating in the Maldives since the 1980s. It has a top quality 5-star PADI diving centre in Vakarufalhi. Completely renovated along with the rest of the resort in 2009, it offers top quality equipment such as Mares regulators, BCD masks and other major brand names in the sector, such as Hartenberger and Suunto Vyper. 10 to 12-litre aluminium Nitrox cylinders are also available (15-litre cylinders available on request). A well equipped shop sells materials of all kinds, from sports clothes to accessories, CDs and DVDs. Theory is taught in air conditioned classrooms using cutting edge equipment, and fully applying the PADI standards (Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Nitrox). The centre offers top quality diving experiences, guaranteed by its location in the southern part of the Ari atoll. The wonderful marine life off Vakarufalhi is world famous and continues to attract beginners, as well as experienced divers, who return to these waters year after year. There are over 35 sites for day and night excursions, with up to two or three per day, at between ten minutes and one hour away by boat. Six channels and 15 “thilas” (the local word for an underwater island at over 10 metres below sea level), as well as famous spots such as "Manta Point", "Kuda Rah Thila", "Vakarufalhi Etere Thila" and many more.
