Zero Impact® travel
because discovering the world means also respecting the environment
Travelling means coming into contact with new cultures, discovering new places, being taken surprise by beautiful, previously unknown landscapes. Unfortunately, discovering the world also has a definite impact on our environment: in fact, all activities involved in to travelling to and staying in a hotel, just like all human activities, produce CO2 and add to the greenhouse effect, the phenomenon that is causing global warming.
For this reason, Hotelplan has once again joined LifeGate's Zero Impact®. This project, which was developed in association with Italian and foreign universities, quantifies carbon emissions generated by people, products and activities, and then aims to reduce and offset them by planting new trees. Pollutant emissions caused by printing the entire circulation of this catalogue, for example, have been offset by the creation of approximately 6,600 square meters of forest in Italy and 7400 in Costa Rica.
This year, Zero Impact® offers travellers another tool to fight the greenhouse effect: YouImpact, the new sharing platform from LifeGate. For each contribution uploaded - video, images, audio – Zero Impact® will create one square metre of forest.
