Environmental Culture

The "culture of the environment" project created by Punto 3 actively promotes sustainable tourism in TClub structures located in particularly fragile and sensitive ecosystems that must be protected and conserved for future generations to enjoy.
The project applies the principles of sustainable tourism both in the management of TClub facilities, with site visits and inspections in the destination countries, and with regard to raising guests' awareness.
Through an environmental analysis carried out on site, it aims to discover environmentally friendly management aspects. The results of the analysis will be used to develop and provide local managers with a range of improved procedures tailored to reduce the environmental impact caused by the hotel's activities (e.g. energy consumption, water consumption, waste management and so on).
The project also aims to spread awareness among travellers and teach guests about the destinations they will visit, prior to departure and during their stay. Even before you arrive at your holiday destination, just being aware of the characteristics, peculiarities and issues of the country of destination is one of the first steps you can take in becoming a sustainable tourist. In addition, during your stay, small gestures of respect for the environment can help preserve the uncontaminated nature of the destinations that accommodate tourists.
Through its "culture of the environment" project, TClub offers its customers:
• A CD Rom to watch at home before you leave, presenting an investigation into the local and environmental context of countries hosting TClubs;
• a bookmark printed with 10 eco-tips.
• a guide to each destination, provided in hotel rooms.

In 2007, Hotelplan received the "Business Environment Award of the Year" for its ongoing efforts in the creation and development of the "culture of the environment" project.
