Documents Italian citizens must hold a passport with a minimum validity of six months. Minors under the age of 15 have to be accompanied by both parents and be registered on the passport of one of their parents. For stays over 90 days, it is necessary to request a visa from the Embassy or Consulate.Â
Currency Legal tender in Venezuela is the Bolivar. It is necessary to carry local currency since there is no exchange bureau on the island and credit cards are not always accepted.
Time zone When Italy is on solar time the difference compared with Venezuela is -5 ore. When on summer time, it is -6 hours.
Vaccinations and health precautions No vaccinations are required. We do however recommend a vaccination against yellow fever and the malaria prophylaxis for all those intending to visit the state of Bolivar in the Amazon, and for anyone planning to go on to any other South American country since these are mandatory when arriving from Venezuela.
