Full board and 2 photo safaris each day
The prestigious TClub Lion Sands Tinga is located in the heart of Kruger Park at the point in which the Sabie and Sands rivers meet, on a private concession of over 5,000 square hectares. Kruger Park is immense and the Tinga off-road vehicles are authorised to cross the entire territory. The Kruger is the natural habitat of an amazing number of animal species and, in particular, the specific area of the Sabie river has the highest recorded density of leopards and predators in general. It also possesses a particularly rich biodiversity with many rare species of animals and plants. It is a marvellous reserve set deep in the African bush.
The TClub Lion Sands Tinga is an excellent choice for whoever wishes to fully enjoy the emotional experience of a direct contact with nature and the local fauna. The private reserves distributed along the borders or inside the Kruger Park are enormous areas in which animals live in perfect freedom. Accommodation is usually exclusive and almost always of a high standard, where the biggest plus is that of being able to go on safaris. The safaris are conducted in roofless off-road vehicles with raised seats, making it possible to get the most out of animal sightings. These take place at dawn with a short stop-off in the bush for mid-morning refreshment and a pause late in the afternoon to stop in a scenic spot to admire a romantic sunset and proceed for the night-time safari. There is always a specialised and expert ranger and a “tracker”, that is a local expert specialised in sightings and the recognition of fresh animal tracks. Even though safaris aim at sighting large animals, the so-called “Big Five”, it is also interesting to observe smaller animals, bird life and the splendid vegetation, in order to go home with a complete experience of the African bush. In walking safaris, the rangers are able to bring guests into close contact with the rich variety of local flora and fauna, explaining the complex local ecosystem in fascinating detail. They will demonstrate how to “read and interpret the signs of the African bush": its noises, movements and smells will reawaken our senses. At the Tinga, it is possible to go on individual photographic safaris according to availability on site.
Tinga consists of two lodges: Narina and Legends, both in a classical style with a touch of African decor. Lodge guests may use the dining room, bar, panoramic swimming pool with its view of the Sabie river and open-air boma for romantic dinners under a starry African sky. Not to be missed are the wellness treatments, performed by expert therapists in the fully-equipped wellness centre, in the guest’s own suite or on the private veranda to experience the unique emotion of viewing the Sabie river and listening to noises coming from the bush.
