Madikwe is situated to the North West of Province, a four-hour drive or 50 minutes by plane from Johannesburg, including free transfer to and from the Lodge. The Madikwe Hills Private Game Lodge stands on a hill in an extensive area of 75,000 hectares, right in the heart of the Madikwe reserve, which is a “malaria-free” zone.

Surrounded by a world of sensational natural beauty, the Lodge offers the last word in terms of comfort and hospitality. Its safaris are marvellous. In fact, the Madikwe is not only a habitat of the “Big Five”, but also of many more animal species, including the wild dog (licaone), which has now become rare. To add extra sweetness to these magnificent safaris, the rangers will serve tea or coffee with delicious pastries mid-morning. The expert rangers of the Lodge will introduce guests to animal life and describe in detail the sensational nature of this corner of Africa, making it an unforgettable experience. The impressive Lodge entrance provides an immediate idea of the dimensions of this enchanting location. To complete the facility, there is a large swimming pool that is perfect for cooling down on hot afternoons, a bar where guests can sip an aperitif before dinner and a splendid bookcase with historical volumes on Africa and a choice selection of Mondadori books in Italian, a 24-hour internet access point, satellite TV and a fitness room for the more active. Children under 10 are not admitted to the main Lodge, but may stay at the “Little Madikwe Hills”.
