The climate is drier in winter and more humid in summer, but it is pleasant all year round, with sunny days and a breeze most days. The average temperature is around 28°C.
Documents
A visa is not required to enter the Maldives, just a valid passport. For those staying in Dubai and travelling on scheduled flights, a passport is required with a validity of least 3 months.
Currency
The local currency is the Rufia, approximately 0.06 euro, but U.S. dollars are commonly accepted. All resorts accept major credit cards for payments, with the exception of Diners.
Timezone
When there is summer time in Italy, the time difference in Male is + 4 hours. With daylight saving time in Italy, the time difference is +3 hours. However, Vakarufalhi has a different time zone to make the most of the hours of sunshine: +1 hour ahead of Male.
Vaccinations and health precautions
There are no mandatory vaccinations or prophylaxes. We recommend you bring commonly used medicines, insect repellent, plasters and SPF creams.
