Climate Kenya enjoys a pleasant climate throughout the year with temperatures ranging between 24°C and 30°C. On the highlands and in the parks, the temperature range between night and day is wider than it is on the coast. It is more humid during the rainy season, from April to June, and there is a short rainy season in November; the driest months are those of January and February.
Documents Italian citizens are required to hold a passport with a validity of at least 6 months from their date of departure and with at least two blank pages (regulations in force at the time of going into print with this catalogue). Entry visas may be obtained at all airports of arrival in Kenya against payment of 25 US dollars.
Currency Official currency in Kenya is the Kenyan shilling: 100 shillings are equivalent to about 1.00 euro. The principal credit cards, such as Visa or Master Card, are accepted but generally an extra charge of 3-5% is applied.  US dollar banknotes with an old serial number are not accepted in shops, airports and other tourist facilities, only those issued after the year 2000.
Time zone When Italy is on solar time, the difference is +2 hours; during summer time it is +1 hour.
Vaccinations and health precautions At present, no vaccination is mandatory for Kenya, but malaria prophylaxis is recommended. As well as medicaments for personal use, we advise carrying insect repellents, protective cream against sunburn and sunglasses.
